Yes. IEU is a legally registered private higher education institution in France, operating under the Code de l’Éducation (Articles L444-1 to R444-28) as a distance learning provider (établissementd’enseignementprivé à distance).

Yes. As a private institution, IEU is authorised to award its own institutional degrees at the Master’s and Doctoral levels. While IEU does not issue French state diplomas (diplômesnationaux), our programmes are aligned with  European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the Bologna Process.

The Rectorate is the regional representative of the French Ministry of National Education. All legally operating private distance education institutions must declare their activity to the Rectorate. This ensures that institutions comply with French legal and administrative standards for education providers.

IEU is a private, independent university. It is not a public university and does not receive government funding. This independence allows IEU to develop innovative, flexible programmes specifically tailored for global professionals.

IEU degrees are legally awarded private qualifications under French law and aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
International recognition (e.g., WES or government agencies) depends on each country’s regulations and is subject to their independent evaluation.

Recognition: In France, this usually means state recognition, granted only to public institutions or state-recognised private institutions.
Accreditation: Private institutions like IEU can pursue international quality assurance through EQAR-listed agencies or independent academic panels. IEU has established an International Quality Advisory Panel (IQAP) to ensure continuous quality and oversight.

In France, state accreditation is not available to fully online private institutions. However, IEU is in the process of engaging with international quality assurance bodies listed on the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR), which provide academic credibility and benchmarking.

Yes. IEU degrees are awarded by a legally registered French institution and are aligned with international academic frameworks such as the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the Bologna Process. As a result, IEU qualifications are widely accepted by employers, professional bodies, and academic institutions globally. Employers increasingly value flexible, online learning pathways — especially when supported by relevant work experience, applied projects, and international academic standards, all of which IEU integrates into its curriculum. Many of our graduates have successfully used their degrees to advance their careers, start businesses, or pursue doctoral studies.

No. IEU degrees do not specify the mode of delivery (online or in-person), in line with international best practices. The academic content, workload, and assessment are equivalent to traditional degrees.

Yes. The IEU Residential Programme is a mandatory two to four weeks  on-campus session at the ISMAC Campus for all doctoral candidates, providing advanced seminars, face-to-face supervision, and collaborative research to complement IEU’s fully online studies.

Yes. IEU organises formal in-person graduation ceremonies in both France and at Global Venues deem necessary. These events provide graduates with the opportunity to celebrate their academic success, connect with faculty and peers, and receive their certificates in a distinguished setting. Attendance is optional but highly encouraged for all graduating students.

Yes. IEU offers regular live sessions, one-on-one consultations, webinars, and office hours. Our academic staff are international experts, available to guide and support you throughout your learning journey.
